About the T4
The T4 slip (Statement of Remuneration Paid) is the year-end form Canadian employers issue to each employee, reporting wages earned and CPP, EI, and income tax withheld. Employers must furnish T4s to employees and file copies with the CRA by the last day of February. PDF Edit lets you fill the official CRA T4 in your browser — useful for small employers issuing a handful of slips manually, or for reviewing a T4 you received from your employer.
How to Fill the T4 Online — in 4 Steps
1. Click "Fill T4 Form Free"
The button above opens the official T4 inside the PDF Edit editor — running entirely in your browser. No download, no signup, no upload.
2. Type directly into the form fields
Click any field to place your cursor and type. Tab moves to the next field. Every native AcroForm field is recognised — no guesswork about where to click.
3. Sign, stamp, or annotate as needed
Use the toolbar to add a signature image, a date stamp, or a free-text note. Everything stays inside your browser — no third party ever sees your entries.
4. Save or print your completed T4
Click Save to download the filled PDF, or press Ctrl+P (⌘+P on Mac) to print. The output has no watermark and matches the layout of the official T4 exactly.
Why Use PDF Edit for the T4?
Fillable — really fillable
Every form in our library loads as a native AcroForm PDF with live fields you can click and type into. Not a flat scan, not a separate data entry form that rebuilds a new PDF on download.
100% in your browser
The T4 is opened and edited entirely on your device. SSNs, wages, addresses — nothing leaves your machine. There is no server-side copy because there is no server.
No watermark, no paywall
The saved PDF is the same official form, no "edited with pdfedit.com" banner, no "upgrade to download". Free forever, ad-supported.
Printable, too
Save the PDF for digital filing, or Ctrl+P to print a clean, mail-ready copy. Margins and alignment match the original.
Always the current year
We track the official Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) release and update the source PDF when a new revision is published. This landing page was last verified on 2026-05-07.
Works on anything

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a T4 slip?
The T4 (Statement of Remuneration Paid) is a CRA tax slip that reports an employee's annual employment income and the deductions taken at source: Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Employment Insurance (EI), federal/provincial income tax, and any pension or RPP/DPSP contributions. Employers issue one T4 per employee per employer per year.
When should I receive my T4?
Employers must issue T4 slips to employees and file copies with the CRA by the last day of February following the tax year. If you have not received your T4 by mid-March, contact your employer first. If it still has not arrived, log in to CRA My Account — most employer-filed T4s appear there automatically once the CRA processes them.
Who fills out a T4?
Employers fill out the T4 — not the employee. Each employer issues one T4 per employee per calendar year. As an employee you receive the completed T4 and use it to file your T1 income tax return. PDF Edit is useful for small employers filling a small number of T4s manually, or for accountants pre-filling client T4s before XML upload.
What does each box on the T4 mean?
Box 14 is total employment income, Box 16 is CPP contributions, Box 18 is EI premiums, Box 22 is income tax deducted, Box 24 is EI insurable earnings, Box 26 is CPP pensionable earnings, Box 44 is union dues, Box 46 is charitable donations, and Box 52 is pension adjustment. The CRA T4 guide (canada.ca) lists every code in detail.
Can I fill out the T4 online for free?
Yes. PDF Edit loads the official 2025 CRA T4 in your browser. Click any box and type — your data stays on your device. No account, no upload, no watermark on the saved PDF.
How do I file T4s with the CRA?
Most employers file T4s electronically using XML through CRA Web Forms, Internet File Transfer (IFT), or My Business Account. Employers issuing fewer than 6 slips can paper-file, but electronic is mandatory for 6 or more starting 2024. PDF Edit is for the slip itself — for transmission to the CRA, use the appropriate electronic channel.
Is my T4 data safe with PDF Edit?
Yes. PDF Edit processes the T4 inside your browser. SINs, wages, deductions — none of it crosses the internet. There is no upload and no server-side storage. Particularly important for the SIN, which appears in Box 12.
Is this the official CRA T4?
Yes. PDF Edit loads the original T4 (fillable PDF) published by the CRA at canada.ca. We do not recreate or alter it.
Can I save and print the T4?
Yes. Click Save to download the filled PDF. Use Ctrl+P to print copies for employees (Copy 2, 3, 4 distribution).
